Obesity causes the accumulation of adipose tissue especially in and around intra-abdominal organs. The hormones secreted by the adipose tissue led to insulin resistance, which results in the development of Type 2 diabetes mellitus over time. The prevalence of obesity increased by 60% and the diabetes mellitus by 90% in the last fifteen years in our country. Although the exact aetiology of diabetes is not known, it is acknowledged that obesity plays important evidence derives from the fact that blood glucose is restored to physiological ranges, when the patients lose weight.
